Leola Opens Serving Up Chef Scott Conant’s Signature Italian Cuisine

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – There’s a new Italian eatery on the scene. Baha Mar Resorts has officially opened Leola, a stylish restaurant created by award-winning chef Scott Conant.

Our Denielle Miller attended the grand opening event, where she got an inside look at the décor, the concept and the culinary vision behind the restaurant.

“Chic, swaggy” are the two words that came to Denielle’s mind when she stepped into Baha Mar’s newest restaurant, Leola.

Designed by Restoration Hardware, the space features plush velvet furniture, ornate chandeliers and warm lighting, blending timeless luxury with modern sophistication.

Chef Conant says the idea for Leola came directly from a conversation with Baha Mar President Graeme Davis.

“Graeme called me and said, ‘What do you want to do?’ And I said I think I want to do a swanky Italian joint… and I think we’ve arrived.”

According to Conant, the restaurant’s culinary identity is rooted in simplicity and soul.

“It is a hundred percent soulful, honest Italian cooking. There are two schools of thought with Italian food… and my intention is to always bridge the gap.”

Even the name Leola reflects his creative vision.

“Leola is kind of a loose play on a female lion. I wanted something that sounded Italian, easy off the tongue… something fun to say. There’s a simplicity to it, but also an inherent elegance.”
