UNITED STATES – Nashad Mackey has reached another milestone in his rapidly rising collegiate coaching career, accepting an assistant coach position with Mercer University for the 2026-27 season.

Mackey arrives at Mercer after two seasons at the University of South Carolina Upstate, where he played a key role in player development, helping mentor multiple Big South award winners, including the reigning Freshman of the Year.

Mackey’s coaching journey also includes stops at the University of Tennessee-Martin, where he helped the Skyhawks win their first Ohio Valley Conference regular-season championship, as well as Daytona State and Embry-Riddle.

The former collegiate standout, who scored more than 1,600 career points and grabbed more than 1,300 rebounds as a player, was also recently named to Head Coach Mikhail McLean’s Bahamas Senior Men’s National Team staff for the current FIBA World Cup qualifying window.

Minor League Baseball

Daunte Stuart’s transition into the minor leagues and the Philadelphia Phillies organization could not have started much better.

Stuart made his High-A debut with the Jersey Shore BlueClaws and made an immediate impact, delivering an RBI triple to right-center field in his very first at-bat.

Starting at second base, Stuart finished the night 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI as the BlueClaws defeated the Greenville Drive 8-5.

The strong debut was the latest chapter in a journey that took Stuart through three successful seasons in independent baseball, where he proved he could produce against professional pitching.

Most recently, his numbers with the New Jersey Jackals earned him a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies, and if his first game is any indication, Stuart has no plans of slowing his momentum as he climbs the organization’s ladder.
