Major Funding Pledge At Americas Summit

USA – U.S. President Joe Biden welcomed government leaders from countries across the Americas on Friday to an economic summit, with a pledge to increase U.S. investment in the region to counter China’s influence.

Biden did not specifically mention China in his opening remarks, but openly alluded to the country that has emerged as a chief geopolitical competitor to the United States.

Among the other topics being discussed at the summit are migration, supply chains and efforts geared toward environmental sustainability.
