Mako Aquatics Dominating The Nationals, Kai Bastian Sets New Record

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Makos Aquatics has emphatically seized control of the meet, leading the five competing clubs with a commanding 1,439 points. They’ve secured an impressive 64 gold medals, 32 silver, and 29 bronze.

Alpha Aquatics trails in second place with 663 points, boasting 16 golds, 22 silver, and 18 bronze medals.
Close behind is Barracuda Swim Club with 620 points, winning 6 gold, 17 silver, and 16 bronze medals.
Blue Waves Swim Club currently sits in fourth place with 527 points, earning 5 gold, 10 silver, and 11 bronze medals.

A standout moment of the competition came when Kai Bastian shattered the national record in the Boys 11–12 50m Backstroke, clocking an impressive 30.53 seconds.

The championships conclude tomorrow at the National Aquatic Center. Spectators are encouraged to show their support for these talented young athletes. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be broadcast live on Cable Channel 212.

TENNIS
Meanwhile, from the courtroom to the tennis court, some of the country’s top legal minds took a break for a bit of friendly competition and mentorship.

The Honorable Justice Jon Isaacs, longtime judge and retired President of the Court of Appeals, wrapped up several days of mentoring young attorneys in a training hosted by the Bahamas Bar Association. To close things out, he gathered everyone at the Gym Tennis Club in Winton for a light-hearted match on the court.
