NASSAU, BAHAMAS – An alleged killer has been charged with murder over the broad daylight shooting of 24-year-old Jason Lamm.

Prosecutors say 33-year-old Sidney Hart Jr is responsible for the January 17 murder.
According to police, around noon on the day in question, Lamm was at the intersection of Parkgate and Village Roads when the occupants of another car pulled alongside his and opened fire.

The boat captain was declared dead at the scene. He was killed days before he was set to stand trial for the March 1, 2021 murder of Antonio Russell at Bernard Road.

Hart didn’t have to enter a plea to the murder charge when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.

Bail was denied and he’s due in court on March 25 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.

Meanwhile, Justice Guillimina Archer-Minns vacated Lamm’s trial date after being informed of his death.

The matter will be formally struck from the list when the court receives a death certificate.
