Man Charged With Shooting That Killed Woman And Injured A Child

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man is facing charges in connection to a shooting that killed a woman and seriously injured a child.

Nineteen-year-old Christopher Poitier appeared before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley charged with murder and attempted murder.

Prosecutors allege that Poitier was one of the gunmen who opened fire on the porch of a home off Wulff Road on June 29.

Ishniequa Culmer, 26, was fatally shot and a 13-year-old boy was seriously injured.

Poitier didnt have to enter pleas to the charges and was denied bail.

He’s back in court in November to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
