Man Pleads Guilty to Hospital Attack

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man who used a defibrillator as a weapon during a brawl in the trauma room at the Princess Margaret Hospital has changed his plea to guilty.

Brian King Miller Jr, 30, caused $12,075.22 in damage to a Zoll Cardiac Monitor on December 11th, 2021.

On the day in question, prosecutors say Miller and Elvardo Thompson were both stabbed during a fight at a nightclub that required them to seek medical attention.

The men clashed again in the hospital’s trauma room when Miller beat Thompson about the body with the machine.

Magistrate Samuel McKinney placed Miller on probation for 18 months.

If he’s convicted of any offenses while on probation, Miller will be sent to prison for six months.

Additionally, he is required to compensate the hospital for damaged machine. A failure to comply with the compensation will result in a one-month prison sentence.

Miller and Thompson did not press charges in relation to the fight that sent them to the hospital.
