NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The man who murdered Georgette Rahming as she sat on her front porch has been jailed for 44 years.

Anthony “Peanut” Bethel received the sentence when he appeared before Justice Franklyn Williams KC.

On May 26, 2015, Rahming was on the porch of her family’s home on Palmetto Avenue when she was shot multiple times by an assailant.

Bethel confessed to the crime when he was arrested. He told investigators that a man called Shaddy told him to kill Rahming.

Bethel said that he was afraid that Shaddy would have had him killed if he didn’t carry out the order.
