NASSAU, BAHAMAS –  A man who bought a gold ring from a vagrant has been sentenced to six months of probation.

Twenty-one-year-old Kile Dean faces three months in prison if he commits another crime while on probation for unlawful possession.

On June 10,  police stopped and searched Dean on suspicion of drug possession.

While the officers didn’t find any drugs,  they found a gold high school graduation ring in his pocket.

When asked where he got it,  Dean told the officers that he’d bought the ring for $5 from a vagrant who frequented the Cowpen Road area.
