NASSAU , BAHAMAS – The road to representing The Bahamas begins this weekend at the BAAA Combined Junior and Senior National Championships at Thomas A. Robinson Stadium.

The country’s best athletes will not only battle for national titles, but also for the opportunity to secure their spots on Bahamian teams for major international competitions.

There will be highly anticipated matchups all over the stadium at both the junior and senior levels when action begins Friday at 3 p.m. and continues through June 21.

WNBA

Jonquel Jones continued her strong play as the New York Liberty held off the Chicago Sky, 96-95, for their eighth straight win.

Jones finished with 19 points, eight rebounds, three assists, a steal, and a block, including a big fourth-quarter performance to help the defending champions secure the narrow victory.

Sabrina Ionescu provided the final heroics with the game-winning layup with just 10 seconds left.

Chris DeMarco’s team is finally healthy and improved to 11-4 on the season, leading the Eastern Conference.

MLB

Bahamian infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. and the New York Yankees continued their dominance over the Chicago White Sox with a 10-5 victory on Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium.

After a 12-2 win in the series opener, the Yankees again put their offensive firepower on display, scoring double-digit runs for the second consecutive night and improving to 45-27 on the season.

Chisholm added to the attack with a solo home run in the seventh inning, his 10th of the season, as he became one of five Yankees players to reach double digits in home runs this year.

New York has now won four straight games and nine of its last 13 as the team continues to thrive despite the absence of superstar Aaron Judge.
