Matchups Set for New Providence Group Playoff

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – League Play has wrapped in the senior divisions, and all set for action to get going on the pitch as the Samuel P Haven High School Soccer Nationals get underway.

The New Providence Group Playoff begins tomorrow at the Roscow Davies soccer fields with the top programs in the country vying for their spot in the semifinals.

The senior girls are first at 4:30 pm with the BAISS champion and defending national champion Lyford Cay International School Dragons taking on the RM Bailey Pacers – third place in the GSSA.

Senior girls match two will be a battle between two seeds, The St. Andrew’s Hurricanes against the Anatol Rodgers Timberwolves.

The lone Senior Boys match of the day kicks off at 6:30pm where the BAISS champion and defending national champion Windsor School takes on the GSSA’s third seed, the C.R. Walker Knights.

Winners of each match will advance to the semifinals on May 29.

Track and Field

The Thompson sisters continued their dominance in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships for the Jacksonville University Dolphins.

Cassidra Thompson won her second consecutive 400m ASUN outdoor title with a time of 53.28 secs.

Cassie Thompson took first place in the 200m in 23.24 secs and finished second in the 100m in 11.47 secs.

Both were members of the 4x400m relay that won their second straight conference title in 3:39.70, a full second faster than the previous year.

Pickleball

Baha Mar and the John McEnroe tennis center plan to showcase even more raquet sports this spring.

In addition to tennis, pickleball and padel will be featured prominently from the youth level, to adults.
