NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two men are facing a murder charge after a man was killed during an attempted armed robbery.

Leroy Estime and Ervin Moxey stood before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley charged with the murder and attempted robbery.

Prosecutors allege that Estime and Moxey shot Escaniel Doudou on January 25, 2023 as they tried to snatch an envelope containing cash.

Doudou died from his gunshot injuries in hospital on March 25.

The men were not required to enter pleas to the charges and were denied bail.

They return to court on October 3 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.

Estime alleged that police officers broke his ribs while beating him during his interrogation. Moxey also alleged that police officers spanked him with a cutlass.
