GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – While many of our New Year goals are often grandiose, mental health counselor at Grand Bahama’s Family Wellness Centre Jessica Russell suggests looking outward for some of your mental health goals.

Russell also says making an effort to help your baseline physical health by taking care to eat healthy meals, stay hydrated, and adhere to a solid sleep schedule are key starting points in setting yourself up for mental health success.

And in a culture where we’re often focused on what we don’t have. The therapist suggests keeping track of your wins too.

Russell says this is especially important as we find ourselves comparing our lives and successes to people on social media platforms.

But it doesn’t have to be just one or the other.
