MEXICO – Meanwhile Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said Monday that her administration is waiting to see if Donald Trump follows through on his threat to impose 25% tariffs on Mexican imports.

Sheinbaum’s team is in constant talks with U.S. officials, and she may speak with Trump directly.

Mexico argues it has done its part, deploying troops to curb migration, extraditing cartel leaders, and cracking down on drug labs.

With border crossings at a record low, Sheinbaum says Mexico has a plan and will respond accordingly.
