NASSAU, BAHAMAS – In just a few months the Customs Department will roll out its new app called the “Exempt Mobile Baggage Declaration”. The app seeks to make baggage declarations easier for passengers.

Our News spoke with residents today and they had mixed views come June 12th the mandatory Exempt Mobile Baggage Declaration app will facilitate the electronic submission of baggage declaration or form C-17.

These residents believe the new technology is a good idea.

The app will require a one-time registration using an email and a private password provided by the user.

Once you log onto the app, click the account tab and then update, you will be prompted to scan your passport.

The app will also allow travelers to pay online.

Some residents say while it can be a good move they believe there may be some challenges.
