Mom and Preacher Husband Accused of Sexually Abusing Teen Daughter

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 42-year-old mother is behind bars after prosecutors allege that she sexually abused her teenage daughter along with her 45-year-old preacher husband.

The Nassau residents appeared before Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans on charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with a dependent while the mother faces a separate charge of failing to report the abuse of a child.

Prosecutors allege that the man, a self-professed prophet, molested his then-15-year-old stepdaughter in December 2022.

It’s further alleged that the man and his wife molested the girl together in June 2024 and February 10, 2025 when she was 16 and 17.

Prosecutors allege that the mother failed to report her daughter’s abuse.

They were not required to enter pleas to the charges and bail was denied.

The couple returns to court on June 30 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
