CHINA – Rescuers searched for 48 people missing Thursday after a landslide buried an open-pit mine in Northern China.

The rescuers using backhoes and bulldozers to dig through tons of earth and rubble.

State broadcaster cctv reporting the confirmed death toll has risent to five.

The search had to be suspended for several hours because of a second landslide at the massive facility.
