NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Drivers in the country now facing another adjustment. Police recently reminding the public of the law when it comes to left turns at the red light. Our News spoke to motorists today in New Providence to get their feedback on the new changes.

Earlier this week, head of the police’s traffic division, Chief Superintendent David Lockhart said the law requires motorists to only turn left at a red light when there is signage.

But motorists have been turning left at the red light for a few years, once the way is clear.

Motorists gave mixed reactions to Lockhart’s announcement.

Lockhart says police are working with the Ministry of Works officials to begin posting more signage at the appropriate locations.
