NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Discussions surrounding a new draft legislation that if passed will now outlaw marital rape, continue. But, amid ongoing conversations about whether or not a man or woman can rape their spouse, parliamentarians have yet to debate the draft legislation on marital rape in the country.

Former Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis telling reporters earlier this week that he believes now more than ever, marital rape should be recognized.

Now, some womens rights activist groups have made it clear that they believe government has been dragging their feet on the longstanding issue, however, Golden Gates Member of Parliament Pia Glover-Rolle says she disagrees.
