NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A murder convict with a chronic illness is asking the Court of Appeal for bail while he awaits an appeal.

Andre Ferguson’s lawyer Christina Galanos alleges that he’s not receiving adequate medical care for Type II Diabetes since he was sentenced to 25 years for murder in 2025.

Ferguson was just 17-years-old when prosecutors say he fatally shot Terral Williams on July 6, 2013 on Augusta Street.

Murder convicts usually face sentences between 30 to 60 years, but his medical condition was among the reasons why he received a lesser sentence.

The appeal will be heard in May.
