NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man who allegedly committed another offense while on bail for murder has had a second bail application refused.

Alex Daricaud was released on $30,000 bail in February 2021 in relation to the January 2020 murder of Dario Pinder, who was shot multiple times at Weddell Avenue in Freeport, Grand Bahama.

His bail conditions required him to wear an ankle bracelet, sign in three times weekly at the Central Police Station, and keep a daily curfew of 8pm to 6am.

While on bail, Daricaud was charged with possession of a firearm with intent to put another in fear. The charge stems from an incident on January 6, 2023 in which Daricaud is allegedly seen on surveillance footage firing a gun.

The incident took place at 11pm, four hours past Daricaud’s curfew.

Daricaud admitted that he was away from his home, but claimed that he went to get food from a restaurant. His ankle bracelet allegedly put him in the vicinity of the shooting. In his decision, Justice Andrew Forbes said that Daricaud had already flouted the stringent bail conditions imposed by the Court of Appeal in 2021. As a result, Justice Forbes said it was unlikely that Daricaud would comply with further bail conditions.
