NASSAU, BAHAMAS – National Security Minister Wayne Munroe responded to critics who have spent the last two days calling out police for mistakenly shooting a breastfeeding mother as they were executing a search warrant.

Munroe says officers have to make judgment calls when entering dangerous situations.

During the ordeal, the woman’s partner was arrested after seeing the injured mom.

In cases when police are wrong, Munroe says the state does its best to rectify and repair damaged property.

When asked about backlash over the most recent police-involved shooting, Munroe says while unfortunate, officers have a job to do.

The man officers were searching for had initially escaped but returned to the home where he was arrested.
