Klay Has 26 off The Bench, Ayton’s Strong Play Continues

Some Bahamians took to the floor in the NBA on Saturday night.

Klay Thompson came off the bench for the Golden State Warriors, dropping 26 points along with 4 rebounds and 3 assists on 9 of 15 shots including 5 of 10 threes to get a 128-121 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 31 points, 6 rebounds 5 assists and Lebron James had 40 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the Lakers.

Deandre Ayton’s string of strong play continues, as does the Portland Trailblazers’ lack of team success. The New Providence-born big man had 20 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists but his Blazers caught a 126-106 beatdown from the New Orleans Pelicans.

Buddy Hield came off the bench to help his Philadelphia 76ers get a 109-98 win over the Charlotte Hornets. He had 14 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in only 20 minutes to put away Kai Jones’ old team.

And speaking of Kai Jones, he signed with Philly to give them some added length and athleticism during the final stretch but right now he’s in the G-League trying to get his feet under him with the Sixers affiliate Delaware Bluecoats.

He scored 14 points on 6 of 7 shooting, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out a team-high 5 assists as they beat the Birmingham Squadron, 132-126 with Sixers head coach Nick Nurse in attendance..
