NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Baha Mar was already making waves in art with their gallery and art center called The Current, but they’ve recently unveiled an extension called the Eccho Museum.

The Eccho Museum is a fairly new installation. They just opened in October of 2022, but they’re already making their mark in the local art scene. We spoke to Baha Mar’s Executive Director for Arts & Culture, John Cox for more on the arts, events and opportunities.

He tells us that although Baha Mar already had an existing gallery and art space called The Current, Eccho’s size opens up new opportunities.

The art featured in the museum’s gallery is predominantly from Bahamian artists.

And none of this happens in a vacuum, Eccho prides itself on its relationships with other local creative organizations, especially the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas.

It’s not just a space for professional artists, Eccho also hosts art classes for adults and children, and is available as a space to rent for events.
