UNITED STATES – A new study finds our brains might be soaking up more microplastics than any other organ.

While experts say there’s no immediate cause for alarm, the study, published in nature medicine, also noted higher levels in dementia patients.

While researchers say more exploration is needed, samples analyzed in the study showed brain tissue harbored nearly 10 times more microplastics than the liver or kidneys

They say it’s about the same amount as you’d find in a plastic spoon.
