NASSAU, BAHAMAS – If you’re driving along Wulff Road you may see a major construction site underway just across from Bamboo Shack.

The old Bahamas Academy Secondary Cchool is under transformation as the Ministry of Education has big plans for the site.

The project? A new state-of-the-art facility that will sharpen the skills of those who may not be “book smart”.

There’s also been rumblings that the Technical Cadet Corps programme would also use the new site as its home, something the education minister says is not off the table.

Work at the institution has been off and on for years since the government leased the property after Bahamas Academy’s movement to Marshall Road over ten years ago.

But with work seemingly ongoing without any hiccups, the education minister, revealing a possible opening date.
