BEIJING, CHINA – The COVID-19 outbreak in China has stretched public health facilities’ resources in the capital Beijing, as beds ran out in an eastern hospital by midmorning Thursday.

The resurgence follows China’s abandonment of its pandemic restrictions last month after nearly three years of lockdowns, travel bans, and school closures.

Meanwhile, a growing number of governments are requiring virus tests for travelers from China.
