Klay Scores 42, Warriors Clap Thunder

SAN FRANCISCO, USA – With Warriors leading scorer Stephen Curry out for a few weeks with torn ligaments in his left leg, Klay Thompson stepped up in a big way, scoring 42 points to help his Warriors beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 141-114, Monday night.

It was a hyper-efficient shooting night for Thompson as he shot 15-22 from the field. More impressively, he went 12-16 from three, a season-high for threes made.

Despite the wide margin on the final score, the game was competitive for most of the first half with OKC taking a 37-30 lead late in the first quarter. Klay and the boys from The Bay kept bombing away, however finishing the first half with a 60-53 lead.

The Warriors would not look back with Klay pouring it on in the 2nd half. He made 5 of his 7 three points attempts as the Warriors opened up their lead, putting the game out-of-hand for the Thunder.

The Warriors hit a season-high 26 three-pointers last night. They also dished out 43 assists as a team, a record in the NBA this season. Jordan Poole filled in admirably starting at point guard for Steph Curry, scoring 21 points and dishing out 12 assists. Andrew Wiggins added 18 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Shae Gilgous-Alexander led OKC with 20 points.
