NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS – Luxury, technology and affordability.

Those are the three words Omega Motors says best describe its two newest brands Omoda and Jaecoo. The vehicles were officially unveiled this week, giving Bahamian motorists more options in the growing luxury SUV market.

Our Chinasa Outten takes us inside the launch.

A simple voice command is all it takes.

It’s just one of the many hightech features found in Omega Motors newest additions, Omoda and Jaecoo, two brands designed to blend luxury, technology and everyday necessity.

Marketing Manager for Automall Bahamas Deshay Whyms says the decision to bring the brands to The Bahamas was driven by what today’s consumers are demanding.

“Listen, the brand is phenomenal. It is what the Bahamian consumer is looking for now. Technology, it looks good, it’s pleasing to the eye, and, you know, you just have all of the latest features, everything you’re looking for in a vehicle today.”

And it’s not a one size fits all approach.

Whether you prefer gas, a hybrid or an all electric ride, Whyms says there’s an option to fit your lifestyle.

“We do have the JQJ6. It is very, very modern. It is an electric option. So for those who are, you know, opting out of the gas and they want that option, we have something for them.”

For many buyers, anew brand also brings new questions, especially when it comes to parts and service.

But Omega Motors says after more than 5 decades in the Automotive business., it has already put the infrastructure in place to give customers peace of mind.

“And we’re doing our homework to make sure all of those parts that you may need or require within the first couple years of owning the vehicle, it’s here for you. Also, we do offer a five-year warranty on the vehicles as well.”

And while reliability may close the deal, it’s the features that are turning heads.

From massaging seats, to a voice assistant these vehicles are built with the modern driver in mind.

So the Jaecoo J8 has ambient lighting that you can set to your preference. It’s a hybrid vehicle, so you can save on gas. It’s a luxury option. You can even talk to this car. You can say, ‘Hey Jaecoo, turn down windows, open sunroof.'”
