Opportunity Hub Digital Platform Officially Launched

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bahamians with hopes and dreams of expanding trade opportunities beyond the countries borders now have the opportunity to do so as government officially launches it’s digital hub platform this week.

The hub is a way to help small business become more successful, with more skills training and opportunities.

It also brings the resources needed for upskilling and workforce readiness.

Prime Minister Philip Davis launched it with this assessment of the program’s abilities on Friday.

“Our opportunity hub is a single point of access for the many initiatives developed across different ministries and agencies, including Upskill Bahamas, the National Apprenticeship Programme, the National Youth Guard – all new programmes developed during our term – as well as grants, financing, mentoring, and access to expertise.”

The Bahamas Trade Commission plays a leading role, advising government on trade policy while connecting Bahamian entrepreneurs to global opportunities.

“We are building a pathway from here to there, not in theory, not in speeches, but structure in systems in reusable tools. Trade is not just about containers and cargo. Trade is about opportunity, expansion, participation in the global economy…”

International investors, namely the United Kingdom, and People’s Republic of China, are committing to support the program.

Also, Chinese ambassador to The Bahamas, Yan Jiarong, tells Our News it’s another chapter in a long storied friendship.
