Owen Taylor Leads Toronto To Second Straight Final

TORONTO – Owen Taylor led his Toronto Varsity Blues to a 15-4 blowout of the Queen’s University Gaels in the Ontario University Athletics semifinal Friday in Ajax, Ontario.

TORONTO – Owen Taylor led his Toronto Varsity Blues to a 15-4 blowout of the Queen’s University Gaels in the Ontario University Athletics semifinal Friday in Ajax, Ontario. 

Hitting in the 2-slot, the big lefty outfielder and pitcher went 3-5 on the day with a double, two singles, three runs and an rbi to get the win. 

Pitcher Kevin Angers got the win for the Blues. Taylor, who got the last out on a strikeout in last year’s championship game was not needed on the mound. 

NBA

Kai Jones and the L.A. Clippers squeaked by Deandre Ayton and the Portland Trailblazers 101-99. 

Jones stuffed the stat sheet off the bench with eight points and six rebounds, and he shut down the paint to the tune of five blocks. He also dunked a lob with 2.2 seconds left to get the win for the Clips.

Ayton had eight points and seven rebounds. 

Meanwhile, Eric Gordon scored three points in 9 minutes off the bench. His Philadelphia 76ers lost 121-111 to the Minnesota Timberwolves. 

And Buddy Hield had 10 points on 4 of 6 shooting in 17 minutes off the bench for the Golden State Warriors as they beat the Sacramento Kings 109-106. He made 2 of his 4 three point attempts.
