NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police have charged two men after wrapping up investigations into recent murders.

Prosecutors say 27-year-old Solomon Williams is responsible for the October 12 murder of Leslie Knowles.

He was shot while on the job at a car wash on Baldwin Avenue in Chippingham.

And 27-year-old Shaquille Smith is charged with the October 13 murder of Dennis Basden.

Police say Basden, 44, was about to get into his car on Tyler Street when he was ambushed by two gunmen.

Smith is the second person charged in relation to the fatal shooting.

His alleged accomplice, Dennis Mather, was charged on Friday.

Both Williams and Smith are being held without bail. They’re next in court in January to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
