Paralympian And Murderer Pistorius Freed On Parole

SOUTH AFRICA – South African former Paralympic Star Oscar Pistorius was released on parole Friday, almost 11 years after the shocking murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

Known as the “Blade runner” for his prosthetic legs, Pistorius claimed he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder when he shot her on Valentine’s Day in 2013.

Repeatedly appealing his conviction, Pistorius is now a parolee as of January 5, 2024. Steenkamp’s mother, June, expressed the ongoing pain for the family.
