ANDROS , BAHAMAS – North Andros was the destination for supporters of the Free National Movement on Thursday night, as the party conducted its “Fire Forward” rally in the constituency.

The event took place at the party’s headquarters located on Queen’s Highway.

The evening’s speakers included their candidate for Tall Pines, Serfent Rolle, FNM candidate for Fox Hill, Nicholas Fox, and the party’s 2021 candidate for Central and South Abaco, Vandea Stuart.

Also delivering remarks was former Member of Parliament for North Andros, Carlton Bowleg.

Bowleg, served as the MP for the area during the Minnis administration, and is now campaigning for the Bimini and the Berry Islands seat.

He took the opportunity to respond to critics who questioned his decision not to return to the constituency and condemned the Davis administration for its performance.

“You see them talking about progress. Let me ask you a question, when did the BPL service station burn down? In 2023, they promised a year later it was going to be starting so that they could have a new BPL station. Is that station there yet? No.”

Currently pursuing the North Andros seat for the party is registered nurse, Janice Oliver.

Oliver had similar sentiments.

“While the schools sit unfinished, our young people sit unemployed. BAMSI, meant to be the pride of Andros, is failing. Our farmers and our fishers are begging for support.”

“The conclusion of the evening was marked by FNM leader Michael Pintard. Pintard seized the moment to respond to claims made by the Progressive Liberal Party, which asserted that he intends to eliminate the Post Office Savings Bank.”

“And when we hear him tell the lie because he wants to instill fear in Post Office workers’ hearts, we said clearly we believe we have an inefficient banking system. I don’t trust government in the banking business. Ask all of you who have ever participated in the Development Bank. Politicians, through bad behavior, have run a number of our institutions into the ground.”
