BIMINI , BAHAMAS – The Progressive Liberal Party took its Rally for Progress to Bimini on Saturday night, continuing its campaign across the Family Islands.

Candidates from Golden Gates, South and Central Andros, and Pineridge joined Bimini candidate Randy Rolle on stage, highlighting achievements and outlining plans for another term in office.

Minister of Labour Pia Glover-Rolle pointed to job creation and training initiatives under the Davis administration.

“Thousands of public servants who keep the government running. We have hired over 2,500 young Bahamians under the age of 35 into the public service. Press, we are asking you to choose. Upskill Bahamas has signed up over 14,000 Bahamians, and we are expanding it to 25,000 in our next term.”

Foreign Affairs Minister Fred Mitchell also responded to criticism over gift card distribution in Abaco, defending the programme as direct community support.

“You know, Duane Sands is an amazing fellow. He is complaining because vouchers were being given out in Abaco, and he said that the PLP was connected with giving out those vouchers. Well, let me ask you this. You think the people in Abaco care whose name was on the voucher? They want the vouchers. They want the help. That’s all that’s necessary, that the PLP is connected with giving out the vouchers. Give out more vouchers. The more vouchers you give out, the better.”

The rally also saw independent candidate Paul Rolle announce his withdrawal to support the PLP’s Bimini candidate.

Rolle promised to continue development, including affordable housing, if elected.
