NASSAU, BAHAMAS – In his opening remarks at the Climate Finance in the Americas Meeting, Prime Minister Philip Davis explains the need for climate and finance matters to be connected.

The fourth Inter-American Meeting of Ministers and High-level Authorities on Sustainable Development takes place October 2-4.

President of the Caribbean Development Bank, Dr. Hyginus Leon, says the meeting couldn’t have been held at a more appropriate time or place, given The Bahamas’ frontline experience of the impacts of climate disasters.

He says as a result, they’re working to see how frameworks can be evolved to be more effective.

And the prime minister hammers home that this isn’t something that will only impact small island states.
