ABACO, BAHAMAS – One year after Russia invaded Ukraine, Prime Minister Philip Davis is saying The Bahamas has to throw its support behind Ukraine.

His comments follow a video message to CARICOM by Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Russia moved into Ukraine on February 24th, 2023. Since then, nearly 45,000 people have died and leaving approximately 14 million people displaced.

Last week, the United Nations voted overwhelmingly Thursday to call for a cessation of hostilities in Ukraine and for Russia to withdraw its forces immediately.

The resolution passed 141 to seven with 32 abstentions.
