NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The commissioner of police and his team in Grand Bahama Tuesday morning to officially introduce the new Assistant Commissioner of Police Shanta Knowles who is now responsible for the northern region.

GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – The commissioner of police and his team in Grand Bahama Tuesday morning to officially introduce the new Assistant Commissioner of Police Shanta Knowles who is now responsible for the northern region.

The official handing-over ceremony taking place at the Gerald Bartlett Police Headquarters in Freeport.

Assistant Commissioner of Police B.K. Bonamy Jr. has dedicated over 40 years to the Royal Bahamas Police Force. Commissioner of Police Clayton Fernander recalled the moment they came into the organization in the 1980’s and when the decision was made for Bonamy to head the Grand Bahama division.

He says the new police chief for the northern region ACP Shanta Knowles brings lots of experience to the table adding that she’s proven herself. He’s also asking the Grand Bahama community to support her as she’s been tasked with reducing crime in the northern region.

ACP Bonamy thanked Grand Bahamians for their support for the past seven months.

And Knowles thanked Grand Bahama for the warm welcome.
