NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two police officers will now face criminal charges in relation to the shooting death of Deangelo Evans.

The Director of Public Prosecutions had initially determined that no prosecution would flow from a Coroner’s jury’s finding that the killing was a homicide by manslaughter.

Inspector Akeem Wilson and Corporal 3906 Donald Wright will be arraigned on a manslaughter charge in the Supreme Court.

Evans was shot dead on May 27, 2018 after the officers claimed he pointed a .40mm pistol at them.

The officers were dispatched to the Mason’s Addition area in search of a suspect who had robbed Taylor’s Convenience on Burial Ground Corner.
