Polls Open in Canada, Trump and Tariffs Dominate Election Campaign

CANADA – Polls are open across Canada Monday in a snap election to decide the next prime minister.

It comes just six weeks after Mark Carney replaced Justin Trudeau.

Carney’s Liberal Party faces a tight race against Pierre Poilievre’s conservatives.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump stirred controversy by calling again for Canada to become America’s 51st state.

Poilievre told Trump to “Stay out,” while Carney urged Canadians to stay “United and strong”.
