NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Press Secretary Clint Watson says the developers of the Nassau Cruise Port have a year after its opening to invest $8 million dollars back into the beautification of Downtown.

Watson explaining it’s an obligation.

This after State Minister for Legal Affairs Jomo Campbell questioned in parliament if the obligation was fulfilled.

Speaking in parliament Wednesday, Campbell expressed concern that the opening of the Nassau Cruise Port could lead to a slow and painful death for some tourist attractions in Downtown Nassau.

The cruise port is slated to open next week at a cost of $200 million dollars.

When asked to respond to concern that the cruise port will hurt Downtown businesses, Watson says it’s expected those buildings will be boosted.
