NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The 2nd Caribbean Youth Forum on Drug Use Prevention is a collaborative effort between the U.S. Embassy, the Organization of American States and The Bahamas National Drug Council has a unique goal in mind.

The United States saw over 110,000 overdose deaths in 2022, and while the opioid epidemic hasn’t hit the Caribbean like our northern neighbors yet, Health Minister Dr. Darville says the key is prevention.
Phael Lander is the President of the National Youth Council in Dominica. It took him five flights to get to the forum. He tells us why this forum was so important to attend.
