NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A prisoner died at the Bahamas Department of Corrections overnight.

Minister of National Security Wayne Munroe confirms the death to Our News.

In a crime report released on Thursday afternoon, police said a 43-year-old man, who was on remand for causing damage, was found unresponsive just after midnight.

Police say no foul play is suspected and an autopsy will be completed to determine the exact cause of death.

This is not the first time an inmate has died at the facility.

In June, another inmate was found dead in a cell after he was found unresponsive in his bed in the medium security dormitory.

Prison officials said no foul play was not suspected in that case.
