NASSAU, BAHAMAS – One day after a blaze ripped through the building that was set to house the Department of Labour and the Public Service, the Disaster Reconstruction Authority, Solomon’s Old Trail, and the new Cost Right property owners were back on the scene inspecting the damage as they await a final report from the police.

The owners and contractors of the building that was ravaged by a massive blaze on Monday were back at the scene today assessing the devastating aftermath.

Our News caught drone footage of them walking the compound.

Among the group were former PLP cabinet minister Shane Gibson and gaming boss Adrian Fox.

The massive blaze ravaged the building that housed Solomon’s Super Center and the new Cost Right along with the building being rented to house the Department of Labour and the Public Service and the Disaster Reconstruction Authority off East West Highway.

According to TMF Construction Limited Michael Clonaris, an AML generator tank exploded, caused the blaze.

While the fire was still burning Tuesday morning, Fire Services officers tell us the blaze is contained.

“Around 10:30 in the morning fire started between the generator, and the generator tank at Solomon’s, AML. So we evaluated the whole building and we called 919,911.”

Pike workers were on hand tending to nearby poles while heavy-duty equipment was on property removing nearby containers.

Clonaris says despite their best efforts, the fire could not be stopped.

At this point, we wait for the investigators to come and let us know what actually happened. Police were already here yesterday and today, but we can all inform you after we know, from the investigator what is the case.”
