NASSAU, BAHAMAS -The prosecution has finally closed its case in the years-long corruption trial of former Long Island Member of Parliament Adrian Gibson and four others.

The trial, which began in November 2023, has faced multiple delays due to legal motions, appeals, and vacations.

Prosecutors allege that Gibson, while serving as executive chairman of the Water and Sewerage Corporation, engaged in bribery, money laundering, and fraud related to contracts awarded by the corporation.

Gibson is on trial alongside former General Manager Elwood Donaldson Jr., Jerome Missick, Joann Knowles, and Peaches Farquharson.

Senior Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson is expected to hear legal arguments next month before the jury returns in August.
