Quaker Oats Pancake, Waffle Mix Recall Elevated To Highest Level By FDA

UNITED STATES – The FDA has now classified Quaker Oats’ recall of Pearl Milling Company’s original pancake & waffle mix as its highest risk level: Class I.

This follows an earlier recall on January 14 after the company learned that some 2-pound boxes might contain undeclared milk, posing a serious threat to anyone with a milk allergy.

Although no allergic reactions have been reported so far, the risk is high enough to warrant immediate action.

The affected boxes were distributed in 11 states, and Quaker Oats advised consumers to discard them right away.

Pepsico, the parent company, has reaffirmed that consumer safety remains their top priority.
