FLORIDA, UNITED STATES – A historic snowstorm struck the U.S. Gulf coast on Tuesday,  bringing snow to areas of North Florida, including Panama City, where residents were stunned by flurries along the beach. 

The storm prompted Governor Ron Desantis to declare a state of emergency, as schools closed and businesses shut down.

The snowstorm is shattering records, with the region seeing snowfall levels not seen in over a century.
