NASSAU , THE BAHAMAS – Grief turned into greatness Monday night at the Kendal Gymnasium, when Mario Rolle delivered one of the most emotional and dominant performances in recent Hugh Campbell history.

Just days after losing his father, the C.I. Gibson Rattlers star forward stepped onto the floor and played the game of his life — 24 points and 18 rebounds to lead his team to a 75-53 win over the St. George’s Jaguars to claim the 2026 Hugh Campbell title.

Rolle started the game 0-5 from the field but shot 12-15 the rest of the way while controlling both ends of the floor on the glass.

Darius Hanna scored 20 points and had some timely three-point shooting from deep, while Sidney Higgs scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half.

Mikhai Nesbitt led the Jaguars with 15 points and nine rebounds, and Shanto Curry Jr. scored 13 points.

St. George’s led by as much as nine in the first, before Hanna banked in a three at the buzzer.

The Jaguars clung to a one-point lead at the half, but from there the Rattlers won the second half 41-18 to clinch the title.

For C.I. Gibson head coach Kevin Johnson, he became the winningest coach in tournament history with his seventh title, and as a program, the Rattlers now rank second behind the Tabernacle Falcons with nine titles.

Track and Field

World record holder, Devynne Charlton, clocked a world-leading 7.77 seconds to win the 60m hurdles at the ORLEN Copernicus Cup in Poland.

Meanwhile, Anthonique Strachan opened her season in Jamaica at the S.W. Isaac-Henry Invitational, finishing third in the women’s 60m in 7.39 seconds.

In the United States, Kendrick Thompson was third at the USATF Indoor Combined Events Championships in the heptathlon with 5,963 points.

NCAA Basketball

Romad Dean’s Tulsa Golden Hurricanes defeated Brent Moss and the UTSA Roadrunners 100-74 and set a record number of three-pointers to do it.

Dean didn’t have any of the threes, but he scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds, while Moss had eight points, three assists and a pair of threes.
