RBDF Officer Charged With String of Armed Robberies

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Royal Bahamas Defence Force Marine Adrius Austin and Deon Burrows stood before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley facing charges of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A marine mechanic is behind bars in connection to a string of armed robberies this month.

Royal Bahamas Defence Force Marine Adrius Austin and Deon Burrows stood before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley facing charges of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Burrows faced additional charges of attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Prosecutors allege that on January 6 the duo robbed Chances Web Shop on East Street South of $1,238.

They are charged together with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery while Austin is charged alone with abetment to armed robbery.

Ten days later, on January 16, prosecutors say Burrows robbed Deshonna Rolle of $1,560 outside of Cash N Go on Carmichael Road.

He accused of attempting to murdered Rolle when he allegedly shot her.

Burrows and Austin are accused of robbing Rolle and conspiring to rob her.

On the same date, police allegedly found Burrows in possession of a Sig Sauer pistol and five rounds of ammunition.

Burrows and Austin were not required to enter pleas to the charges and denied bail.

They return to court on June 11 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
