NASSAU, BAHAMAS – After months of silence on the ongoing land battle between Royal Caribbean International and Toby Smith, RCI is speaking out.

President Michael Bayley believes both projects can coexist and reaffirmed that RCI has a signed lease.

As Royal Caribbean International and local businessman Toby Smith go head to head over a property west of Atlantis, Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley is breaking his silence.

Both RCI and Smith are looking to lease the same two acres of crown land for their projects.

Bayley making it clear he has no issue with Smith.

He was asked if he believes the two sides could find a middle ground.

Bayley sought to make it clear that they have no issues with Smith. He says he believes they’re doing the right thing.

RCI is looking to construct a 100 million private beach club.

While he says the plan is to better the destination, it hasn’t come without pushback.

Atlantis President Audrey Oswell was one of them.

He’s requesting patience as the company goes through the process.

Bayley was also asked to respond to concerns that the project will take cruise guests away from Downtown Nassau and the surrounding experiences.
